Not a fan? Tracee Ellis Ross had a lot of great moments onstage at the 2015 BET Awards, but one moment in particular has everyone talking — and tweeting. Tasked with introducing a performance by Tyga and Chris Brown, the Black-ish star (and event co-host) couldn’t help but chuckle, which some viewers perceived as her throwing shade at the singers.
“Equally a triple threat — young, sexy, and black,” she began, stifling a smile. “Please welcome…” At that, she paused, looked to the side, and laughed, before saying flatly, “Tyga…and Chris Brown.”
It’s possible that Ross, 42, was simply pausing for effect, or that her laugh was just an acknowledgement of the overly enthusiastic fans screaming their approval for Brown and Tyga. But people on Twitter think otherwise.
