Samuel Gray Obituary, Death – Samuel L. Gray, age 71, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Emergency Room in Ft. Madison. He was a resident of Fort Madison.

Samuel and Mary Lee Bryant Gray were his parents when he was born on January 4, 1952, in Rockford, Illinois. Sam was employed as a mechanic for Shottenkirk as well as the City of Fort Madison at the same time. He was a huge NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan and loved tinkering on cars in his spare time. He also enjoyed watching street races on television. His family and friends will grieve his passing and will always love him.

Heather (Dameon) Bowen-Jones of Powell, Ohio and Holly Bowen of Richmond, Kentucky are his twin daughters. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Avery and Brynn Jones; his partner of thirty years, Mary Dawson of Fort Madison, and her children, Jerel and Sarah Dawson; one sister, Betty Gray-Brown of Madison, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. His mother and father, along with his two older sisters, Marva and Gwen, all passed away before him.
